🤔 Why I Built This

As a fellow Samoan, I noticed that most salary calculators online are designed for US dollars, Australian dollars, or New Zealand dollars. When you're trying to figure out your pay in Tala, you have to do the math yourself — and that's not always easy when you're comparing different job offers or figuring out if overtime is worth it.

So I built this simple, free tool for our community.

💡 Tips for Using This Calculator

Adjusting for Unpaid Leave

If you take unpaid leave during the year, reduce the "Weeks per Year" value. For example:

• 2 weeks unpaid leave = 50 weeks
• 4 weeks unpaid leave = 48 weeks

Part-Time Workers

Simply change the "Hours per Week" to match your actual hours. The calculator will adjust everything accordingly.

Comparing Job Offers

When comparing a salary position to an hourly position:

1. Convert both to hourly rates
2. Consider benefits (leave, medical, etc.)
3. Factor in overtime potential for hourly roles
